RC33 Book series
04:49 - By Luciana Alexandra Ghica
RC33 is launching a new book series that aims to
- Contribute to the development of research and teaching in political science and related (sub)disciplines (e.g. international relations, public policy, public administration, area studies) through the examination of the factors and contexts that shape the inputs, outcome and reporduction of political research;
- Consolidate and increase the visibility of research on the study of political science as a discipline;
- Provide more global perspectives on the development, opportunities and challenges of the discipline;
- Consolidate and stimulate the participation in the IPSA World Congresses with research relevant for the scope of RC33;
- Generate activities for RC33 outside World Congresses (e.g. events that can lead to more extended publications, preparatory meetings for each volume, book launches).
The series welcomes volumes with single or multiple authorship (including edited volumes), and it will focus on topics related to the scope of RC33.
Typical volumes that can be published periodically are
- surveys at country level, regional level or in specific linguistic areas of political science and related (sub)disciplines;
- results of the global surveys on the state of political science.
Other typical volumes can be those dedicated to
- the history and impact of professional associations of political science and related (sub)disciplines;
- methods and theoretical approaches for studying political scientists and political science as a discipline;
- case studies or comparative analyses of stakeholders relevant for the development of political research;
- teaching in political science and related (sub)disciplines or in specific areas relevant for political research (e.g. civic culture, education for democracy, diversity and inclusion);
- the impact and legacy of various institutions or personalities relevant for the development of politicals science and related (sub)disciplines.
However, other topics will also be included, reflecting especially the current concerns in the discipline. For example, among such topics proposed so far (including those resulting from discussions at the IPSA World Congresses):
- The use of AI in scientific research: Opportunities, challenges and ethical considerations for political science (check the specific CALL FOR APPLICATIONS)
